Here’s a baseball riddle for you to consider. If a batter hits a ball that splits in two during flight, and half goes in the stands, fair, for a home run, and the other half is caught on a fly by the outfielder, what does the rule book say about this situation? The answer appears at the bottom of this column.
Mike Tyson will make one more come-back attempt in the ring, and win the heavyweight championship by a sudden knockout.
A top level player on the St. Louis Cardinals will be charged with manslaughter in the death of his wife in a car accident. The player was driving the family car under the influence of alcohol and drugs and will plead no contest.
He will serve 18 months in jail.
The Florida Marlins will win the National League East in a playoff game against the Mets. Then they will lose to the Cardinals in the NLCS.
The American League comeback player of the year will be Steve Karsay of the NY Yankees.
Riddle answer:
The batter is thrown out of the game for being a ball buster.
