Name three major sports that do not play against the clock. The answers appear below.
SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT . . . . .
As you know, there are many switch-hitting batters in the major leagues. There are also players who bat opposite from the way they throw. And since there are people who are ambidextrous, meaning to say they can throw with either hand, has there ever been a pitcher who could pitch with either hand? If there were, no team could ever switch-hit against him. Or he could pitch righty on Monday and lefty on Tuesday. Awesome concept.
Years ago, baseball had double headers every Sunday, with one admission price. There were also double headers on holidays. As a rule teams were off on Monday and sometimes on Thursday. Players were rested, and weren’t as worn out at the end of the season as they are today. And the fans loved double headers. Just like there were two movies at the local theatres for one price. I say bring back the good old days.
Every sport has a scoreboard so that the fans always know the score and can see who’s winning. Every sport,
that is, except boxing. For some reason, no matter how many out-cries there have been against incompetent judges and unpopular decisions, and through the suspicions and accusations of fixed fights, boxing officials have
fought to keep the fans in the dark. Why? Even the boxing commissioner can’t give you a valid reason. Why
don’t they post the judges’ rulings on a scoreboard after each round, for all to see, including the fighters themselves? It would certainly keep the sport honest and make it more exciting. Don’t you think?
Riddle answer:
Golf, Tennis, and Baseball. Bowling too.
